Kanapaha Botanical Gardens (Gainesville, Florida) is a 68 acre non profit facility comprised of 24 major collections visually accessible from a 1 ½ mile paved walkway. Giant Victoria Water Lilies can only be seen in late summer as they are a tropical species and usually disappear in October when the cooler weather sets in. 

Kanapaha Botanical Gardens is a premier Gainesville wedding venue. We have indoor and outdoor rentals for wedding ceremonies and receptions, meetings and other social functions. 

Kanapaha Botanical Gardens does not permit walk-ins for special occasions, such as elopements, celebrations of life, wedding ceremonies and small gatherings. All such occasions require booking a rental reservation with the Garden’s Rental Coordinator. 

The months offering the most color are July through September. Not everything blooms at once, making each visit a unique experience as the gardens evolve throughout the year. 

Please be aware that you may encounter power tools such as mowers, blowers, hedgers. This is an active, working garden and although staff works during hours when we are closed (Thursdays and before we open), these tasks spill over during our hours of operation because of the expansive size of the gardens.
