Father's Day Special: June 16, 2013

To give back to all those hard working fathers, Kanapaha offers free admission to Fathers of all ages on Father's Day. And remember, children under six are FREE everyday!

Fall Plant Sale and Orchid Showl: October 19 & 20 (9am - 5pm) 2013*

Each October, Kanapaha Botanical Gardens holds an Open House & Fall Plant Sale, inviting visitors to see the facility ADMISSION FREE. Kanapaha Botanical Gardens formally opened to the public in October of 1987 and the Open House is a means of celebrating our 'birthday.' In addition to viewing the botanical gardens, approximately 40 booth will be set up selling a wide variety of plants. The American Orchid Society's judged orchid show will coincide with the Fall Plant Sale and will take place inside Kanapaha's entrance building. Pets are not allowed at these festivals.

Bamboo Sale: December, (2013), January, February (2014)

Every winter, Kanapaha holds an Annual Winter Bamboo Sale. In early December, Kanapaha issues a descriptive sales/availability listing of bamboos that are being offered during December, January and February on a dug-to-order basis.

Camellia Show: January 4 (1pm - 5pm) 5 (9am - 4pm) 2014

This two day event features prize-winning camellias of all sizes, shapes, and colors. There will be judged exhibits of japonicas, reticulatas, hybrids, and species. In addition to their outstanding winter beauty, some of the varieties are fragrant. This show is geared toward educating the public about the care, culture, and appreciation of camellias, both in the greenhouse and in the landscape. Regular admission price for non-members and members are admitted free of charge. Spring Garden Festival: March 22 (9am - 5pm) & 23 (10am - 5pm) 2014

This is Gainesville's premier horticultural event. The Spring Garden Festival features about 200 booths offering plants, landscape displays, garden accessories, arts and crafts, educational exhibits and, of course, foods. Also featured are a walk-through butterfly conservatory, children's activities area, live entertainment and live auctions. Parking is free and two off-site parking areas are serviced by shuttle buses. Admission is $8 for Adults and $5 for children two to thirteen. Cash only (no credit cards) at these events. A $2 discount is given for members of Kanapaha.
